Safeway - Homer

I was very disappointed in your store today 9/9/23. I entered the store around 3:30 in the afternoon, picked up a few items and went to check out and the were no checkout stands open. Only the self serve checkouts we’re open. There was a an extremely long line to wait in for this. I personally do not like the self serve checkouts and will not use them. I put the few items back and left the store and made my purchases elsewhere. It’s sad. I’ve shopped there for years and am very disappointed in the overall decline in service at this (Homer) location.

Groceries normal. Customer service common major retailers standard. Food just like any other Safeway in Alaska. On every visit, I got what I wanted. Their Starbucks people are great. HOWEVER, THEIR RESTROOMS SUCK not clean and the waiting in long lines on two occasions was not fun.

Great store and sushi, sometimes the employees arent paying attention and goofing off when you need them

We don't have many grocery stores in Homer. We are a summer tourist destination. It's bad enough in the winter, but every summer, the shelves are constantly empty. Things like milk, eggs and bread. Basics.Why can't they buy heavier to keep the shelves stocked enough that the locals don't hand to drive to Fred Meyer in Soldotna to get staple grocery items?RV tourists are warned to stock up in Anchorage because Homer Safeway won't have anything.
