Homestead - Homer

They were offering a 2 for 1 deal on starters, so we decided to give it a try. We had dined at this restaurant four years ago and it wasn't great, so we hadn't returned. We thought we'd give it another chance, but unfortunately, it was still disappointing. I found a hair in my appetizer, which was promptly replaced, but by then everyone else's food had arrived. The food was not impressive and the decor hadn't changed since our last visit.

I decided to drive to Homer for the day and had always heard of The Homestead, but had never been there before. I made a reservation on the way and was not disappointed. The food was excellent.

The Homestead is my favorite restaurant in Alaska. The food is delicious, consistently varied, and made with local ingredients, including fresh seafood. The stunning view of Kachemak Bay enhances any dining experience, along with the excellent service.

Our meal was excellent, and this is a must-stop restaurant when they are in homer. the seafood dishes are kreatiw and cooked for perfection. the meat lover in our party was also impressed by his meal. our server was also excellent, known from the menu and also local sights. one of our best meals in alaska!

Worth walking too if necessary. Best martini's on the planet and the prime rib is pretty nice too. Suggest you visit and get you one of each!
