Grandma's Goodies Gumbo - Hollister

Stopped in for lunch today. Great food. Great service even though there was only one waitress and cook. Don’t usually take leftover fries home but these were worth it. Beignets for dessert we’re mouthwatering. It’s a hole in the wall restaurant that if you blink, you could miss it. Definitely look for this place and stop in.

I am a Louisiana native and have tried many so called Cajun restaurants throughout the U.S. This is the first outside of Louisiana that I tried that has the Cajun flavor. For dessert the cinnamon roll was off the chain.

My husband and I had dinner here while on a weekend away last Saturday. It was hands down the best jambalaya and cornbread I have ever eaten. I am eating jambalaya again at a restaurant in my hometown and it doesn’t even come close to the quality of the food at this establishment.

What a great surprise. Service great. Food outstanding. Atmosphere was fun. So good I went to thank the cook. It was grandma doing the cooking. I was in town to golf and happened on this gem. Next time I will travel just for this and maybe happen on some golf.

Just fabulous. There were four of us. We all had something different and it was all great! From hamburgers, gumbo, shrimp to beignets..the best. Atmosphere was eclectic and service was outstanding. Brook was our waitress..couldn’t have been nicer.
