Baja Hoboken

Terrible service and racist staff. The general manager Sherry thinks that she can be rude and racist and get away with it. She got in an argument with us over two missing dishes and accused us of lying in front of the entire restaurant. When we asked her to check the CCTV cameras or even count the number of plates, she asked us to leave and never come back. All this was after waiting for an hour for our order out of which only half the stuff came. I have been to Baja at least 5 times before and never experienced this. Needless to say, never going back.

Visited on a Saturday night (after visiting pier 13 and not liking any of the options there). Restaurant was pretty empty and we were seated immediately. Nicely decorated both inside and out. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Shrimp burrito was good but I never had a burrito where my rice was on the side so that was a little off putting. Also had a mojito which was good!

We went to this place today, 5-25-24, for dinner. Table for 2, we sat outside... we had 1 round of drinks (1 house frozen margarita, 1 corona light)... shared 1 appetizer (the shrimp stuffed with jalapeno, cheese, breaded and deep fried, you get 2 on a plate with kind of wilted lettuce and some pico de gallo and sour cream), the cakey breading was cold, the inside shrimp/jalapeno was warm... ergo, microwaved, I thought they were sad. My partner had skirt steak and shrimp fajitas, I had skirt steak tacos. Our bill was around $108 plus tip. I found that exorbitant given the quality of the food. Their skirt steak was very flavorful, I'll give them that. They seem to know what they're doing with one protein and the salsa and chips, but nothing else in my opinion. We were charged for a ramiken of house hot sauce... Don't waste your time at this place... Go to Orale Mexican Kitchen in Jersey City... better everything, less of a rip off. They have 3 house hot sauces and they come with your meal. The service was fine.

Nothing special we used to go in Baja mexican Jersey City near exchange place so we try this branch in Hoboken, we were disappointed the margarita drinks they use cheap tequila the food also I don't know how to describe taste bad and the service. Better try other mexican restaurant around Hoboken

I didn't have high expectations for salmon from a Mexican cuisine restaurant but woah! The salmon dinner was delicious!! It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Flavor on point! Highly recommend. The grilled veggies had a nice char on them too! I don't eat peppers though. I ate the squash. It came with rice and black beans. The rice was good. Had some kind of flavor. I only had a bite. And the black beans were perfect. Delicious. I ate them all. I will definitely be reordering from here! Want to try their other foods and the salmon again. Highly recommend!!
