Bidrage med feedbackPolitically represented. It was festively decorated. Orders for drinks Then food orders. Meals beautifully presented, the Atlantic salmon was excellent. Dessert was very good. The waiters were attentive. Overall positive experiences.
A friend and I wanted after working Friday evening drinks both pubs nearby were muded, so I hiked to Collins St to find another place and saw her sign, the gravitation forced me in luck on my part....I would totally forget about Friday night cocktails. I ordered my friend and me a glass of roses and the record for $8.50 Dear God, what a bargain. The students are thrilled to have cocktails for $10.50, great atmosphere and the students are friendly for a chat when you ask how they go and what their future career plans are. Anyhoo, we had a fabulous night, free heated medal, and we have booked for dinner for the following week, in time to get the last session for the current menu before the new menu is in place. $7 Entrees, $15 Mains and about $7 for Desserts. You also booked in a work lunch session. And if you do, the preorder is an option. During school time wed Thur open for lunch and dinner. Absolutely worth your time.
Eating was nice, portions not big, but good, as you could then taste more than one course.
Two of us have decided to go to training college to eat lunch. The students were kind on arrival. The menu was passed and then we were left for a while. We were served two courses in just one hour and at the time the third course was served, it was an hour and 45 minutes. So if you're for a cozy lunch, that's the place to go. The presentation and the food were better than average. It was a pity that the restaurant was half full, but its booking system is not great what can explain why. That made the students stand too much in the dining room.
Drysdale has a long history as a premium catering and hospitality training operation for TAFE Tasmanian with a reputation that has varied. Glad to say that a recent dining expereince puts it back right at the top. The food was brilliant honey glazed Blue Eye...fish, pan fried wallaby, beautiful selection of desserts all added up to a great meal. Presentation was first rate and serving sizes were about right given the style of dishes. Reference to local Tasmanian produce was a notable feature. The restaurant is delightful, a comfortable and roomy interior with excellent acoustics great for those of us with age related hearing issues! This is a training operation its very reasonable prices reflect this $22 for an entree and main course) but there are hiccups. A number of dishes ran out, for example, and sometimes the wait staff were challenged but it was handled professionally and in a good natured way. Tasmania currently has a huge demand for properly trained food and hospitality staff and it is great to see Drysdale is back in town doing its bit to meet this demand in fine fashion
