Bidrage med feedbackHad a lovely afternoon tea with some friends in this little cafe that used to be the Newtown Post Office. Coffee, cakes and the feel of the place were most enjoyable. Service was good and they sell crafty knick-knacks, including my DVD: "The Tasman Peninsula Featuring Tasman Island" that I put in this afternoon.
Enjoyed a delightful lunch today. There were two of us and one has recently been unwell. This Diner enjoyed just a small portion of her lunch - not recovered enough to enjoy a larger meal. Paid our tab and departed. While strolling down the street a Staff Member pursued us to ask was our lunch OK as she had noticed one plate had only a small portion eaten. Assured her all was well and explained reason. Fantastic concern for customer satisfaction and thank you for your attention. We will return when we both have vigorous appetites.
Average meal not what everyone was raving about in my view.A couple of tips for the owner - make sure you get your items from the shop and get back to the restaurant to open on time.Putting chairs on top of tables on legs, on top of the tablecloth, rather than upside down left dirt on the tablecloth and then this wasn't changed or cleaned before we took our seat.On the upside the Hollaindaise sauce was good.Won't say it was terrible and I could go back again but the details are important.
For a start Sally, Hobart (previous review), they don't "wipe tables", they change the table cloths, I know, I'm one of a few who make them. They don't EVER have bare tables. I suspect you're a member of The Grudge Against Meegan Group, aka Banned From Eating Out In Tas on FB. Enough. You've tried to drag her down, you've failed. The Café is successful, it's thriving, the catering side is going well too. It's tiny, it's kitschy, it's popular, it's successful, their High Teas are in the Hobart top five with The Mercury Newspaper. Try and deal with it.
Love my coffee from Cafe 176. Best coffee around town, always get a happy smile from Michael. Meegan brought us our food with a massive smile and I treated myself to a piece of Mushroom and Caramalised quiche, I woofed it down and so did my bubba who is super fussy also had a jelly cake, so fresh and fluffy.
