Hug Grill Buffet - Hillsboro

I thinks it is one of the best buffets we have been to in the USA. I find the seafood selection nice and fresh. Salmon nigiri delicious and not too much rice put under nigiri. The fruits and dessert are also delicious too. Friendly and prompt service.Husband ate lots of oysters.

Huge variety, lots of sushi, my kids loved it! The adults felt the food was just OKAY. Nothing was really tasty. Pretty pricey for just mediocre quality .

It was clean. They gave options of paper plates or washable dishes. Pretty large selection of foods.

Our first trip to the hug buffet was on a Thursday for lunch. Two adults, a senior and a four year old plus drinks was only around $50. I normally a little suspect of buffets between 2 and 4:00 p.m. but it was too hot to do anything else that day so wetried it. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold and everything seemed andtasted reasonably fresh. The sushi was excellent, although it could have been rolled a little tighter, the taste wasoutstanding. They offered both Styrofoam plates with plastic cutlery and regular plates with metal utensils which I found alittle strange. But overall I have no reason to complain. Everything tasted great and there was a fairly diverse selection, mostof which is your standard Chinese food buffet offerings but little things such as the snow cone bar really made it stand out. Iwould like to return and see what their dinner menu is like and in fact just thinking about it is making me hungry right now.It's a little ways out if you don't live in the area we drove about 30 minutes from Tigard but in the end it was well worth itand we're happy that we did. So if you find yourself in that neck of the woods stop in for a bite because I highly doubt you'llbe disappointed.

It's been a while since I have been to a buffet and this place is ok. Some of the food that's out is good, looks fresh and tastes good but others felt dry, out for too long, or undercooked. I don't personally have high expectations for buffets ingeneral but overall this was not a bad spot. Would I come back again? Not likely. Maybe after a long while when in the mood fora buffet again and with a friend or two who are curious about this place.
