Evelyn's Memory Lane Cafe - HighRiver

A group of us visited High River for the day. We happened upon Evelyn’s. Everything was so tasty. Two had sandwiches, two had Dave’s mistake salad and one had the Buddha bowl. There was only one bowl left. I had the salad. I’m craving another one! It is three salads in one, broccoli, beet and feta and a lettuce tomato, which was a substitute because they ran out of buddy bowls. It was topped with chicken. Definitely worth another trip to High River!

We went there fir birthday lunch and it was perfect . Very busy which is a good sign that shows it is popular! Staff were all very busy but worked hard to get food out in time. We didn't want a dine and dash place so all was well. Had a reuban sanwhich which was best I have had for a long time with tons of meat on it. My sis had the beef Barley soup and a reuban. Soup also wonderful! If you are looking for a great place with homemade food and don't mind just relaxing and enjoying life then this place is for you!

My boyfriend and I stopped in for some ice cream while sight seeing and absolutely loved the atmosphere. The staff were very kind and we didn't feel rushed when we were deciding what we would like to order. I loved how there was a good amount of unique ice cream flavours to choose from besides your standard vanilla etc. I'd love to come back again!

We loved Evelyn's. I'm not sure if it's now under new ownership but the standards and level of service has fallen. I had a delicious veggie sandwich yesterday though when it arrived I could see thumbprints in the bread. I also waited for a water refill and wanted to order a slice of pie but that opportunity never presented itself which was very unlike other times we have visited. It was well after the lunch rush and not busy. I ended up ordering a cinnamon bun $3.50) and a slice of pie to go. I near died when I saw my slice of pie was $7. For a small slice of cherry pie. And upon eating it at home it was terrible. The crust was dry and the cherry filling was a gelatinous cornstarchy mess. I have two toddlers who tried it and also wouldn't eat it. We loved Evelyn's but after this visit its unlikely we well return.

Always delicious food and exceptional service. Worth the drive every time!
