It is located in a picturesque spot on the outskirts of town near the McPherson Clan museum, and is the closest restaurant to the rail station (1.1 km away). During our visit, there was a busy event happening which resulted in slow service and a 45-minute wait for our meals. The restaurant itself is charming and well-maintained. Just a heads up, you have to order at the bar as there are no waitstaff to take your order. The cold and refreshing gold stout was enjoyable, and the zucchini soup had a nice light spice to it. The freshly baked bread was steaming hot and melted the butter instantly. The Cullen skink was creamy, smoky, smooth, and delicious. The pulled pork hot dogs were more like pulled pork on top of a sausage, with the untoasted bun quickly becoming soggy from the sauce and pickled red onions. The chips were perfect, but the coleslaw had too much mayo for my taste. The undressed, basic salad was a bit underwhelming. Overall, it was an enjoyable and creative meal experience.
