Mrs S Highgate

I was so excited to come to wife s in highgate unfortunately I had no good sauce because I, when I ordered, asked a few the girl that served me, was nice and the dame that cleaned my table was nice, but the guy who made the coffee, who answered my asking, raised his tunes to me and was rude he was nicer to others,

Only stopped to get a few takeaway coffee, they were untrunken, burned and bitter, which is surprising as the woman s in maylands is always so amazing and everything is done with care.

I've been a long time fan of Mrs S in Maylands and finally had the opportunity to visit the Highgate Mrs S today. I have to say, the staff were equally as friendly, warm and welcoming, they had the same menu which meant it was equally delicious, it is closer to home for me, and it was quieter! That for me is a winner - as at times in Maylands, the noise level is overwhelming! The courtyard was perfect, and the music playing was the perfect volume so it wasn't eerily quiet... That is, noisy enough so we could hear ourselves talk still and it wasn't awkward in the silences.I had the open porterhouse steak sandwich, and it was SO darn tasty. A great portion size - not too huge, not at all piddly either. My friend ordered the Manwich (Pulled pork), and had to rest between halves to fit it in! Super delicious.I am still waiting for them to bring back their corned silverside dish. I've never had such a delicious brekkie in all my life. Seriously!The mugs of coffee we requested were generous in size and hit the spot.Really lovely atmosphere and still that same quirky style that I love.Will be heading back again soon!

Street parking is free for 2 hrs. Much more spacious then the Maylands. However the cakes selection was much more limited.Services were friendly, fast and hassle free. Food similar standard to that of the original Mrs S. Coffee for me lack the substance and zing.

We had a late lunch, the staff were very helpful and pleasant. All three meals and drinks were well presented and lovely to eat.
