The Golden Galleon

This old pub is fantastic. The food is great and the guys behind the bar are friendly and awesome. They have a good selection of beers, and I especially loved the rev. James beer. I have great memories from my time there. I recently spent a week in Hereford and kept coming back to this place for the beer, food, and company. I found out that it had recently changed management and ownership just a couple of weeks ago, but the new people are also awesome. I wish I could go back. If you're in Hereford and looking for a good pint, delicious food, and enjoyable conversation, be sure to visit this place.

The Spread Eagle is widely regarded as one of the top restaurants in Hereford. This traditional town pub and eatery is a favorite among locals for its live music, delicious steaks, and a variety of other dishes. Situated in the heart of Hereford next to the renowned Cathedral, this historic 17th-century building may appear small from the outside, but it exudes a charming and character-filled olde worlde ambiance once you step inside, with oak beams and wooden floors. The restaurant extends far back and up an old wooden staircase, while a spacious beer garden is perfect for summer dining. The menu is unique and diverse, featuring dishes not found elsewhere, all freshly prepared on-site. Whether for a quick snack, dinner, or Sunday roast, my family and I frequent The Spread Eagle and have always enjoyed exceptional meals. Due to its popularity, reservations are recommended for Sunday lunch and weekends. Additionally, the lack of mobile phone reception adds to the peaceful dining experience.

I only eat at this restaurant after I've had a few drinks, which always makes the food taste amazing. I'm not entirely sure if it actually is amazing, but that doesn't matter when you're craving five pints and a kebab.

Have always loved to come here as I was a child, although it has changed the quality of good fish and chips or a kebab current prices are definitiw worth it
