Purple Penguin Snowcone Shack

All I can say is oh-my-goodness! How can they pack so much flavor into a snowcone?! If you're looking for the perfect summer treat, look no further! This snowcone shack is located outside the gas station behind the pumps. It's the trailer that's painted purple, you won't miss it! They have a window to the left that takes your order and the window to the right to pick up. Bring cash if you want to avoid being charged 0.50 cents for using a debit card. I love that there is a large variety of flavors. You can choose up to 3 in each snowcone. What makes them absolutely delicious is the vanilla ice cream you can add at the bottom. Whoever came up with this is a genius!! They cover the snowcone with enough syrup to ensure there aren't any bites that taste like plain ice. This will be a frequent spot for me this summer!

Purple Penguin is one of the best ways to cool off on a hot summer day in Henderson. You'll find Purple Penguin in a gas station parking lot at Horizon Ridge and Arroyo Grande. It's a small stand with a lot of options and usually a long line. The flavor options here are almost endless. The hardest part is narrowing down the options. Fortunately, you can choose two or three options for one snowcone. I like the Fuzzy Navel or Amaretto. Yum! Everyone in the family will find a flavor or three that they can enjoy. Pricing is reasonable for an icy treat and the service is always friendly.

I wish there was a Bahama Bucks in Henderson but until then this will do. They're pretty convenient, located by a lot of shell gas stations these are pretty cool fast snow cone stands. Not a ton of sour flavors which is the great thing about BB.

You have your basic flavors like strawberry and blue raspberry, as well as tiger's blood, and even more fun flavors like birthday cake! It's not Hawaiian shaved ice, it is a snow cone so don't expect the ice to be fluffy. If eating in the car, I suggest asking to put your order in a larger cup to prevent spills. The price, variety of flavors, and cooling treat is worth a visit if you're around the area.

I first had discovered Purple Penguin back in the day when I was in high school. It's a little truck in the corner of the gas station and it's such a hidden little purple gem of Henderson! They have some of the best shaved ice I've had in Vegas. It's soft. The flavors are really good. They don't shy away from making sure you know you're gonna get messy. And you can choose to add either cream or ice cream (or both) in it! Get the ice cream for sure! A small is definitely filling and you can always take your shaved ice to the park near by and enjoy it outside when the weather is nice. It's also something to cool you off in the summertime. If you haven't tried it you've got to stop by!
