Possibly the best soul food in texas is in a small Hempstead town the oxtails cooked perfectly tender succulent and falls off the bone gravy is thick the sides I had yams and broccoli casserole seasoned just right the only bad thing I have to say is I didn 't get the delicious looking banana pudding or peach cobbler and what makes this place even better all the ladies that work there so sweet nice and welcoming it 's what a small town "country "home cooking venue should be if you 're anywhere near Houston or Austin you should try it

Delicious food and a family atmosphere. The prices are perfect for a genuine, homemade meal. Everything was amazing, including the conversation. We will definitely be back!
