Vapiano Mikonkatu - Helsinki

This restaurant was a huge letdown. The dishes served here bear no resemblance to authentic Italian pasta. We weren't expecting anything exceptional when we chose to dine here, but the overall experience was disappointing, even worse than anticipated. The pasta was overcooked, and no respectable Italian establishment would serve carbonara with bacon and cream. Additionally, most of the pasta dishes were made with cream in the recipe, which is entirely unnecessary if you are knowledgeable about pasta preparation.

I'm sorry to say that the Skampi pasta we ordered was limp and gluey. It felt like we were eating pasta that had been overcooked and overly saucy. However, the pizza was decent.

Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the hardworking staff who dealt with the challenges of an app ordering system. We sat outside and placed our orders separately on the app. While one round of drinks arrived promptly, we had to track down a staff member for the missing drink. The food took a long time to come out, despite the app indicating it was ready for pickup. After waiting for 20 minutes, I discovered that my pizza had been sitting on the pass and had gone cold. Despite my children being hungry and eating theirs, I requested a remake of my pizza. The last pizza was still missing, and after another trip inside to inquire, I found it sitting on the pass as well. The replacement pizza was lukewarm, but we ate it out of desperation. The missing pizza had to be remade because it had been left on the pass for so long that it had turned cold. Overall, it was chaotic. The pizza we did receive was decent, but there was no refund offered. A staff member provided me with the manager's email for complaints, but I couldn't be bothered to follow up. My advice would be to avoid this establishment altogether instead.

For two days I have been in the toilet with vomiting and diarrhea. I went on Saturday 22.7.23 at the restaurant in Helsinki. I ordered pizza. It came after an hour and was cold. The taste was horrible and I immediately thought that is something wrong. Still after two days my stomach is in pain. All symptoms started half an hour after I ate that pizza.

Whenever we yearned for super yummy pasta, Vapiano was our favourite choice. The last couple of times the experience was bad and worse respectively. We had ordered linguine pasta but were served spaghetti. The pasta was dry with very less sauce and then not mixed at all. When asked about the poor quality of food, the manager had lame excuses of heavy rush and few chefs, when in reality more than half the tables were empty. Change is not always good, Vapiano with a new ambience and inexperienced chefs/staff is certainly not. Steer clear to save both time and money and above all the sight of a sad bowl of pasta.
