Bidrage med feedbackA superbly beautiful, neo-retro place that seamlessly connects the ulta-urban 70 's atmosphere of Itä-Pasila neighbourhood to the interior and the interior all the way to the pastries themselves. The pastries are almost too beautiful to be eaten, and to be completely honest, the looks even overshadow the tastes a little bit, but who cares: one eats with one 's eyes too! The coffee leaves nothing to be desired either, it tastes superbly smooth (I 've only tasted some espresso-based drinks). Service personnel might feel a bit reserved (that 's the typical Finnish way) but highly polite and professional. Fits with the somewhat mysterious and minimalist concept. The opening hours are usually long, but do note that some (or even all) of the pastries might run out during the day. That also comes with the small-scale concept. Also note that there hasn 't thus far been _any_ salty pastries, so be sure to eat/snack somewhere else, and only come here for a treat!
This place is something else: top-level patisserie work among the hash concrete environment of Pasila. The ambience in the cafe is straight out of classic scifi. The patisseries are imbued with skill and inventiveness. A truly unique place. Always vegan options!
I found good vibes, friendly staff, and really tasty healthy food!! Good looking pastry and stylish furniture connected really well!! I'll be back soon !!
I have visited Outrun several times over the past months. It is a specialty coffee cafe unlike any other. The retrofuturistic interior is beautiful, drawing reference to the bold colors and textures of 1970’s modernism, connecting it to the surrounding area of East Pasila which is rapidly becoming one of Helsinki’s coolest neighborhoods. The espresso at Outrun is excellent and they also offer a great selection of carefully chosen teas. The pastries are works of art, to the same caliber as the interior, and their taste is equally impressive. The selection is always changing so there is always something new. Outrun is a great place to head after lunch or dinner. The cafe is easily accessible from Pasila station and Tripla, just walk along Opastinsilta at the walking level of East Pasila.
This cafe is a bright and brave star hidden within the concrete and dystopian buildings of Pasila. Walking inside, the colourful furnishing is in harmony with the delicious and futuristic looking patisseries. The cake we had was a work of art and tasted ok. Alas, the americano was the worst I’ve ever had, but luckily the other drinks were ok.
