Kamats Food Court - HBX

This was my first time trying South Indian cuisine in South India. Kamat is located near the bus stand, also known as Eidgah ground. Kamat Food Court has separate AC and family dining services. Since it was breakfast time, I didn't try many items. I ordered a masala dosa and apple juice. The dosa was prepared in a waffle style and tasted fresh and crispy. The apple juice was a unique blend of apple and coconut. My first impression was that the food was delicious :)

Despite so many new restaurants coming up all over town, Kamat continues to be my favorite any-day. Truly authentic South Indian meal that is safe & healthy. No frills, no show, pure & simple.

I will start with a fact that should be known to everyone . Kamat is the only restaurant chain in whole of Karnataka which hires female waiters . Go to any kamat restaurants across Karnataka you will find female employees working over the floor and this is awesome value to the society. Coming back to food , they provide variety of south Indian dishes and they are good with it . This restaurant is located on the ground floor and easily visible if you pass by despandenagar ( near Maruti showroom ) . There is sufficient parking space provided you come early else park on side roads without obstructing traffic . You can order south Indian dishes , Chinese dishes , juices and other other variety signature dishes prepared at kamats . Happy eating .

Kamats is unbeatable when it comes to food. This restaurant, located on the ground floor of a complex, is famous for its authentic South Indian dishes, a wide variety of street food, Chinese cuisine, and other options. It gets very busy on weekends, so you may have to wait for a table.

During our visit on our way to and from Hampi, we enjoyed a variety of dishes such as dosai, idlis, vada, bonda, poori bhaji, seera, palak bhajia, and more. All the dishes were delicious and the service was efficient. The prices were reasonable as well. Overall, Kamath was a pleasant stop for us during our journey.
