East Ocean Restaurant - Haymarket

Just your average Chinese restaurant. Service was basic, staff was not too familiar with the wine list. Food was average, the deep fried ice cream was soggy which is annoying because we love our ice cream.

This is my favourite chinese restaurant for lunch and dinner, yum cha at lunch is always quality and at dinner peaking duck, crispy skin chicken, special fried rice, salt and pepper squid and prawns are always a favourite.

We went there for dim sum. The food was fine. The duck head was good. The front desk lady, "boss wife," was not friendly. When I paid my bill, she did not say a word to me.

Found a small maggot in our food Great customer service but unfortunately we found it in our beef dish. They didn't acknowledge that it was a maggot and that it was some noodle.

I haven't been to East Ocean for years and what do you know- It's hardly changed at all. It was one of our favourites when we lived in Sydney and now back for a visit. Yum Cha still excellent and authentic  Cantonese flavours.
