Bidrage med feedbackWe ordered a couple of different dishes, the rice and beef dishes were very nice. The dumplings were okay - a bit watery and not as flavoursome as I'd had elsewhere. I'd go back again but not for the dumplings.
I love dumplings and I wasnt disappointed. We also shared the crispy chicken dish and a huge serving of fried rice. Bottle of wine plus food for 3 of us $74. Not bad considering its in the heart of Sydney.
The restaurant is nice and convenient to the Paddy's Market light rail stop and close to Chinatown. While the rice dishes and the more traditional Chinese meals are rather good the dumplings were very disappointing. They appear to have been frozen and thawed in the steaming process, the middle of the filling was still cold. This was a pity as we were impressed with most of the other aspects of this establishment including some rather good service.
Dumplings arrived steamed not fried first of all. Second they had no dipping sauce with them, who on earth serves dumplings with no sauce to dip them in?? If the meal wasn't already ruined by this stage, the sauce-less dumplings had no flavor and the spring rolls were empty of ingredients, was just like eating oily pastry. Avoid this place if you can, Dumpling King has much nicer dumplings which come with a beautiful dipping sauce whereas this place gives you nothing. Would give 0 stars if that was an option.
Get one lot of dumplings, wait 20minutes for the next, another 20minutes for the next. Terrible!! Don't visit. It's not even busy and they can't even take away our dirty plates
