Bidrage med feedbackMy fiancé and I were very excited to try this place but decided to take our business elsewhere.*TLDR*This is a long review/opinion piece, so buckle up! I’m getting very tired of restaurants closing before their advertised time and I’ve noticed it’s becoming very common post covid. Maybe I’m one of the outliers in LA that typically eats dinner between 8 9 pm however, I don’t believe it should be so challenging to find food other than fast food after 8. This is a long review so leave now if you so choose! Here are the details:Restaurant closes at 9:30 as advertised. My fiancé and I drive 20 minutes to get their.Arrive at 8:48.I ask for a table and the lady says they took last call already. (The ambience is super cool inside so we planned on eating there).I ask what time they close, she says 9:30 but they took last call on food at 9.I tell her it’s 8:48.She then says they took last call at 8:45.We both laugh because she realized how silly she sounds. (Tell me you don’t want my money without telling me you don’t want my money). So then I say, “just to confirm, you close at 9:30, but you really close at 9, but you stop taking orders at 8:45”“Yes”Her “you can place an order for takeout”My fiancé and I looked at the menu to order but than decided we didn’t want to eat Thai food in the car or drive another 20 minutes to eat at home. We decided that we’d prefer to give our money to another business. We left and ate next door at L&L.ps. L&L closes at 9 and let us order food at 8:50. We left them a generous tip, were very appreciative, ate quickly, and cleaned up after ourselves because we knew they were closing.
I didn't receive the drink I ordered, so my order was not correct. Where do I go for a refund for the drink?
This place was great, I saw a photo of another Yelper's steamed chicken rice and immediately wanted to come here. For me the Hainan chicken rice is a nostalgic dish and I've seen Thai restaurants make a similar version (with different dipping sauces to the Hainan version). When we arrived, it was fairly empty, there were maybe 6ish tables inside and we took our pick. The menu had quite a decent selection of dishes, but I was already set on the steamed chicken rice. We got a small Tom Kha soup with tofu to share as well. The flavors were spot on and definitely hit the spot! The soup came piping hot and was the perfect mild heat, which was what we asked for. Generous bits of tofu and tomato were in the soup. My chicken rice was fantastic. The star of this dish is typically the rice actually and the garlic and chicken flavors really came out in the rice. I liked their Thai version green dipping sauce as well. There was definitely enough for me to take half back for later, great value and spot on flavors!
Easy and fast meal. Ginger rice is so yummy. Chicken is good, not dry. Side soup is simple and a little bland but kind of comforting. Sauces are spicy but so delicious. Service was good and quick. I would definitely come back.
The food service was excellent. I called in my order and it was fresh and hot when I arrived to pick it up. Perfect portion for lunch and reasonable price. Cute little restaurant for dinning in also. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu items.
