Texan Diner - Haslet

Great place. We've now had breakfast and lunch here and both times the food was great, the portions Texas sized and the value exceptional. On this visit I had the lunch special Shrimp Etouffee. I chose string bean for a side and was pleased that theywere done with bacon and onions and tasted wonderful. The Etouffee was very good as well having a good hearty flavor withoutbeing too salty or fishy. My wife had the Sabine Pass Chicken Sandwich with a side of onion rings. The rings were exceptionaland the sandwich perfect. So if you're looking for healthy portions of delicious Southwest fare, check these guys out.

We heard about this place from a Foodie group that we follow and glad we were able to try it! Practically everything on the menu is made from scratch! There were so many options we wanted to try but even our second stomachs were saying NO! Pictured below isthe Chicken fried NY steak and eggs plate, breakfast Monte Christo w/ Chipotle raspberry jam that you don't want to skip, andfrom seasonal menu; Mango French toast.

I stopped for lunch at this restaurant after a hike at Eagle Mountain Lake, and it was my first visit. I can confidently say it won't be my last! The food and service were outstanding. The restaurant was clean, and our waitress was very knowledgeable when we had questions about the menu. I ordered the meatloaf with Shiner gravy, served with homemade fries and fresh green beans, while my companion had the Vera Cruz chicken with onion rings and scratch-made mashed potatoes. The chef even came to our table, as well as others, to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction! The presentation and portions of the food made us feel like we were dining in a resort. You could really tell that everything was made fresh!

I visited this restaurant for a mid-morning breakfast on a Saturday. Although it was relatively busy, we were seated promptly. The atmosphere was spacious, open, and clean. The service was outstanding, with everyone on staff providing excellent attention. We all ordered the French toast with bacon, and the toast slices were impressively large. The eggs were fresh and the bacon was cooked to perfection. I definitely recommend stopping by this place!

The portions are generous, and the food is absolutely fantastic. The wait staff are very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning! We loved the pies, and we ended up with plenty of leftovers to take home.
