Excellent test of golf on many levels. Course was in awesome shape when we played in mid October this year...great staff, food was wonderful after the round, and the young lady in the mid course snack shack was very entertaining. We were 3 and finished our round in 4 hours even, only waiting on the 3 some ahead of us a few times. The driving range is unlimited balls, included with greens fees, and the putting greens are really challenging. Price for us was $35.00 each senior rate, so you could, 't beat it.

Highly recommend playing here...great track..challenging..makes you think a bit about club selection....don't pass this track up...worth the fees...

Very nice course, yes. But the course management is terrible. With absolutely nobody behind us for multiple holes on a quiet week day, the starter met us at 10, stopped us, and told us we were 15 minutes behind the allotted play time for nine and if we did not pick up our play they would have us skip a hole. Yes we were playing a bit casual since as I stated there was nobody behind us for at least 3 full holes. We did take time on one hole early on the front to allow a very fast playing foursome play through. Explaining this to the starter he said he understood but it did not matter as he told us he was under orders from the pro. For the next three holes we were closely monitored by the riding ranger. After #12 we were told us again we had to pick up the speed because the group in front of us was two holes ahead. This was the very fast playing group we let play through earlier. However we were within our play time for those 3 holes on the back and there was still nobody near us. Ridiculous!!!! This upset all of us and our game was affected. Yes it’s a nice course but I cannot recommend playing here after being treated like this. In 40+ years of playing the game this was the first time anything like this has happened to me in my playing group. I agree with pushing play along on busy days but that was not the case today, nobody was within site behind us. We were happy to finish and spend money at the 19th hole elsewhere. I will personally never play Shaker Hills again.
