Verrills Fish Shop - Hartlepool

We recently had the best Fish and Chips we've had in a while at this restaurant. The batter recipe even reminded me of my childhood days at the seaside in Old Hartlepool. All five of us really enjoyed our meals and thought the portion sizes were generous for the price. However, we were disappointed that the restaurant only accepted cash and would have preferred the option to pay with contactless payment instead.

I traveled all the way from Australia to sample these top-notch fish and chips, and I was definitely not disappointed. The cod and chips were unbeatable in flavor.

My dad brought us to the best fish and chips I've ever had. We always make sure to stop by when we're in the area and then enjoy sitting in the front or in the sunken gardens. Just be cautious of the seagulls trying to steal your chips. There is also easy and free parking available.

Great fish and chips and nice to have Cod for a change as we normally get Haddock in West Yorkshire.

Only second visit to this fish and chip shop definitely won't be back! After waiting in long queue on Friday afternoon expected something special, all we got was a pile of not well cooked greasy chips and a fish also greasy with soggy batter. Disgusting and big disappointment!
