L - Hartford

Mix feelings about this places. The bartender was average. The drink prices are normal for a hotel bar. We ordered a salad with the chicken and clam Chaidez. The soup was delicious but the chicken was not tasty at all. Hard to even cut with knife. The manager was nice and aware and without us even saying anything, came to see how is the food (the server never checked on us, busy at the bar). I was not planning to ask for another one but he insisted. They brought another grilled chicken but unfortunately still not tasty and again rough. I had 3 grilled chicken breast on the plate and didn’t eat any of them. We decided to not mention anything again. But he came and check on us. He offered to remove it from the bill but I have already paid for it. So he offered us free drinks. I guess if you are there to have drinks and network great place but food was underwhelming for us. So I guess food was 2m3 stars but manager made the place 4.

Everything was ok until I got the check. They had a drink menu that clearly said the drink that we ordered was $15. When I got the check, there was a $21 charge! When I inquired, the waitress said, and I quote “THEY made me use premium liquor”. Timeout, who is “THEY” and furthermore, if something on YOUR menu is SIX DOLLARS more, you need to tell people BEFORE you make the drink. That wasn’t cool at all. Also, one of the waitresses broke a few bottles of alcohol last night by accident when a stand behind the bar fell, I wonder if they are trying to makeup for that loss in revenue!!!

Had just gotten into town after a long drive up from PA this place is very nice looking but the night we went the kitchen was doing a horrible job...from the grilled cheese with no cheese to the cold grilled chicken on my undressed ceasar salad...the cold waffles that couldn't melt butter...the lobster mac that there are no words for except no...or the barbecue wings when we requested Buffalo...and i could go on but I won't because the manager and server seemed genuinely apologetic...the manager paid our entire bill even the drinks we had...even the beer I had after dinner...so give it a try but don't have high expectations...its pretty bar food

Friendly staff, as always at Marriott properties, nice place to grab a drink before or after an event in the area or at the hotel. Good selection of beers on tap for a small(ish) bar. Gave it 4 stars because the wings were not good, but the other foodwe had was ok.
