El Pollo Guapo - Hartford

The food is excellent and the ambiance is pleasant. The staff is friendly, and the wait time is minimal. It's the perfect spot for a quick meal when you're attending an event at the Convention Center.

The food here is fantastic! As a vegetarian, I often struggle to find delicious meat-free options, but I really appreciate that I can substitute chicken for chickpeas. My favorite dish is the nachos with chickpeas instead of chicken. They also have some amazing sauces, and the staff has always been friendly. I highly recommend this place!

I really love their bowls! They're not only delicious but also served quickly. I would definitely recommend this place. Just a heads up: parking can be a bit tricky depending on the time you visit.

I came here on Friday for lunch right when they opened. I was torn between the Arroz con pollo and the Almost Legal. Not being sure how spicy the Almost Legal was, I opted for the Arroz con pollo. The food came out quickly and was a large portion. In hindsight, I wish I had done the spicy one. The sauce was very strong on the lime flavor. Overall though, the food was very good.

El Pollo Guapo is the best affordable, clean and yummy place to eat in downtown Hartford I think. It's quite packed in the afternoons during lunch time with UCONN nearby, but you are always welcomed with a smile and find a seat. I even enjoy looking at posters of local events on their notice board.I try to eat different things on their menu, and everything I have tasted uptil now has been just fabulous. Their chicken is fresh and juicy; and bowls are tasty and filling. Hola Guapo Tacos is great for lunch or even a snack.I am a big fan of their sweet and salty Plantains and have bought them as a take out couple of times- they taste amazing with their special Garlic Lime Aioli- fingerlickingly delicious! I am yet to try out their other branches in Newington and Glastonbury, it's a great brand to grow.
