Bidrage med feedbackLet me first say that my husband went to other Jamaican restaurants throughout the CT and that was by far the best ever. When we arrived, I was so relieved that we ordered from there first because this restaurant had a line out of the door that did not make an order on the website. This restaurant was clean, great staff and when we arrived, the food was ready and hot. What a great way to start our first experience with Dunn's. We arrived at home and this food was fabulous and I am not exaggerated. The dessert should die. We had the red velvet cake and the chocolate cake, which had to be made in the house because this is a family restaurant that we love very much. Dunn is proud of her food and the prices were reasonable. We only have a request that I loved her flavors in macaroni and cheese, but we want the macaroni cooked a little less it was very soft. In addition, everything was over and beyond what we expected since we had many restaurants. This is our new Jamaican restaurant.
Best Ox-tails and Curry Goat in East Hartford.. Love it. Pleasant staff, busy environment (customers in and out) reasonable prices.
While visiting Hartford, we were recommended to another restaurant but the GPS too us to Dunn's River Jamaican Restaurant and we absolutely love our meal. With our family size, the owner personally assisted us without revealing he was the owner. The kids, my mom, sister and I were all pleasantly surprised that each of our meals was next to perfection. I personally enjoyed their fried chicken and oxtail. The sides of plantains wasn't too thick and well fried.
Food is pretty good and for the price, definitely worth it. I ordered a coconut drop and they gave me gizzada, very disappointed there but the food overall was good this time around. I ordered delivery and it was delivered with acceptable timing
This is truly a 3.5. I was visiting the area and wanted food from back home. I googled the best in the area and this location out did everyone else. The Pepper Steak was perfection however, the cabbage was definitely not how I grow up eating it nor how I cook it. The Oxtail was not impressive I think that had more to do with how busy they are and they seem to cook through out the day so quick cooking. Just my opinion on that and lack of flavor.... The rice again perfectly cooked. The jerk chicken was ok, just marinade them longer so the seasoning can better incorporate.... The pate are horrible, too much steam in the warm box causing them to sweat and become more soft than a crisp crust *I'm a baker* ... There is a great selection of drinks and snacks... The atmosphere is chill and laid back the staff is polite and work fast.
