Cafe Chocolat - Harstad

You will find this very special cafe' in the basement of the old harbour buliding in Harstad, Norway; next to the central bus station and the quay handling the local ships traffic. In this cafe' you will find an excellent choice of MANY different types of ecological chocolates, good coffee, home made cakes, and a lunch-menu. You can yourself choose what kind of fresh sandwich you want to be made. The service is friendly and attentive and reassuring. You will even find a small library with mainly local literature and also toys for the small children. Next to the cafe' in the same area is a waiting-room showing the timetable for the local bus service and ships traffic.

We spent six hours there and in the city. the owner was very helpful! eating was very good and it is the place to wait and sit in the sun!

The chocolate is good. good service and reasonable trips.

The place is OK, located by the dock of the hurtigbåt it is a convenient stop for a coffee and an organic chocholate before boarding. Allso it is great to sit outside in the summer where the sandwiches are ok. The owner really isnt the most pleasent though, he charges two coffees if you order a double latte (I payed 72, for a coffe) and he got really angry when one of the girls working there had promised a refill coffee to my brother and stopped him from getting the coffee. Such situations has made us stop going there and prefer to cross the street and get our coffee at bark.
