Garza Tortilla Factory - Harlingen

The hunt for a great Barbacoa spot in Harlingen has led us to GARZA! While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the quality makes it worth it. We ordered 1 pound of the Especial and 1 pound of Lengua. The Lengua was exceptionally tender and juicy. We enjoy mixing the two, but the Lengua truly stole the show. The Verde Salsa was delicious and freshly made on-site. The tortillas were soft and warm. We arrived at 7 AM, and although the line was long, we only waited about 15 minutes. Be sure to top your tacos with onions and cilantro!

A few years ago, I discovered Garzas while searching for truly authentic barbacoa. While the barbacoa at Garzas may be a bit pricey, it's worth every penny! You might wonder if there are cheaper options for barbacoa out there, and the answer is yes. However, with those cheaper options, you'll often get subpar quality. Do yourself a favor and avoid the disappointment of inferior barbacoa—visit Garzas Tortilla Factory instead. You won’t regret it!

My first time here and didn't disappoint. Very good barbacoa, tortillas, and the three salsas all have very good taste. Although somehow lean on the Spicier, even though I couldn't say whether it has gotanero or not. Great staff and a great thank you to Ruby that you help this old, discounted, disabled veterinarian navigate the ordering process that was much easier than I thought.

They have great tortillas, and their barbacoa is amazing. Best in town. Just expect long lines on the weekend plan ahead and call before.
