The Black Horse - Harborough

During our stay in Walcote for an event in Lutterworth, we decided to stop by for a drink and a bite to eat at this charming local pub. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection of delicious pub food, which was reasonably priced, freshly prepared, and served with excellent customer service. If it weren't for the event we had to attend, we would have gladly spent a delightful evening here.

I’ve driven past the Black Horse many times, but have never been in. My son has been in a number of times and so, we decided to celebrate his birthday there with family and friends. The large pool area was gifted to us and ample seating provided so we could all sit, have a natter, and enjoy the food that the pub laid on for us. It’s for such a lovely homely atmosphere and is well served by the local community I can see why! The staff are lovely, bar prices are very reasonable and there is plenty of room as it’s quite a large pub. The facilities are very clean: sometimes a pub can be let down by the loos! Not here. Really pleasant and nicely decorated. We were made to feel very welcome and having not been before I will certainly be revisiting. Highly recommend.

Stopped off for a quick point after a job nearby. Don't let the outside appearance fool you..it may look like a house but inside it has the feel of a proper pub. It's run by the community, which is great. So many village pubs have gone. I had a nice pint of session Wherry ale for a very reasonable price and the landlord was a friendly, chatty bloke. Good to see a number of local people in there as well.

Saw the reviews of the place and decided to check it out and we were not disappointed. Great place with great food. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming, made us feel comfortable. Charming secluded pub garden. It was Sunday, so had the carvery and ice cream. Everything was really tasty and plentiful. Cooked with care. I would really recommed. Will be returning in future.

Just moved to the area and stumbled across this pub, wasn’t sure from the location but really could not recommend more highly. The food was fantastic lots of choice and great value. Well worth a visit.
