Bidrage med feedbackShopping Sunday in Hanover always likes to be used and time and again a good opportunity to return to the Rotonda on Sunday afternoon in the self-proclaimed Lifestyle Luxus Kröpcke Passage. We arrived there at around 4:00 p.m. and found a nice table with a view of the happening in Paasage. We were kindly greeted, supplied with cards and asked for first drinks. As we hesitated, the waiter offered me a look at the extensive wine map. Very much. My dear wife chose a Ciro Rosé and for me it should be a Terlan from South Tyrol, one of my favorite wine regions. The wine was brought in flight and tasted very neat, just like the fresh bread served with various olive oils. The ambience... I always enjoy being very here. The Rotonda is an oasis filled with connoisseurs, so contemporaries among whom I feel very comfortable. The chic interior, with discreet Art Deco sounds does its rest. As food we chose a salmon starter on grilled zucchini leaves (my wife) and a risotto with Radicchio for me. Both dishes arrived after a pleasant waiting period and tasted well. The tartar had a nice, peppery taste that surprised me. My risotto was very well composed with the Raddchio and grated hard cheese. The Onda was not perfect. So this time not the usual maximum score. All in all, however, during this short visit a convincing performance, which will soon encourage me to invite to a more enjoyable meeting in the Rotonda. I look forward to it.
Dis-interested staff who could not provide a menu in anything other than German, no idea why not, and made no effort to assist with translation, just kept pushing the specials, ended up dining somewhere much more helpful.
Its not a bad restaurant, nice enough food just a little bit of an odd location. I had a light supper, which was fine and no complaints staff were excellent Not my cup of tea though that said its a busy enough...restaurant Worth a try if you are in town Would I eat there again??? Probably
Oh dear. Having looked at the menu online whilst staying in the hotel opposite, I noticed that they had calves liver, which I haven't had in ages. So, headed over. Cut a long story short..waiter couldn't give a f×+k. Floating around like he was on...another planet..I'll have what he's had. Like a previous review from a year ago, no attempt to engage, trying Italian and German, not realising that I spoke English. Starter ravioli, dry and pathetic excuse for a sauce. Calves liver, better but onions could gave been cooked more. No sign of a wine menu, had to ask. So, in hindsight, I should have gone back to Mary's in the hotel where I had lunch the day before. Thank God I chose a great bottle of wine, made it all the more bearable. Now, you would think having just come out the other side of a pandemic where no doubt, they had been closed for a while, you would be on top of your game to maximise customer spend. Clearly not the case here. Perhaps they're backed by a notorious Sicilian family..
I went twice in a row! First time was a stars experience second time was stars experience. It’s like I went to different places! The service was the deal breaker. Same waiter for the days but the restaurant was under staffed...on the second. I got wrong order TWICE! Menu is full and has lots of varieties. In Appetizers Eggplant pyramid and soups are superb, carpaccio and seasonal Salad are below average. In main dish, sole fish was succulent, but the Rotonda moderna pasta was a complete disaster. In dessert, tiramisu was as tasteless! And overall in the days SERVICE WAS SLOWWWW
