Bidrage med feedbackMy friend and I spent our stay here! here is what we loved and also some helpful information when they think to stay here: the room/check-in: there are 3 etagens and no elevator, so if they have mobility problems, they ask a first floor space. also some of the rooms have floors, so if they have a larger person in their party, they must ask for a room that can accommodate him or her. the bets (at least our) are really, really firm, so they keep this in the eye. I loved it and slept like a baby, but used for people to make a softer matratze, they could bring a topper or see if the gas house has ever. the showers in the rooms are standing only and tiny, so again when someone had mobility problems and needs a when, this will not work. the water pressure was good and they use water softer, so they will love that when they are in a hard water area as we live. a thing I wished we knew before the time they had access to a complete kitchen next door. the gas house is the only restaurant at hancock point and almost all other restaurants near 7 or 9 clock in bar harbor and winter harbor. we would have known that we had gone to buy food before the time to have something, if we came back later in a closed state. there is a complete of, herd, microwave, coffee machine, refrigerator, freezer, pots and pans, dishes, etc. each in the gasthof is very friendly and knows a ton about the opposite. the people are definitiv part of the reason why we would go back. the restaurant: I have seen, reviews both go about it, some say it was amazing, others say the only good was the portions. I had the pasta with seafood and my friend had the acts. we loved our meals, from salad and broth to our main dishes and dessert. For such a heavy dish, the sauce on my pasta tasted quite light, which is hard to do with a cream sauce, it was delicious. the area: on hancock point itself there is not much to do, but the rides to bar harbor and the schoodic side of acadia are each about 35 45 minutes. the house in pet sematary is located at the point, as well as the 2nd smallest post office, a really cool library and carters beach. the gas house is a perfect, quiet exit point for both sides of acadia and for the exploration of all mount desert. one more thing: acadia had his busiest month ever in juli. we have avoided the crowds by coming to the park at most days early, and early I mean before sunrise. we had all the Jessup way to ourselves, a part of the Ocean path and a baptism of others. it is worth getting up early. finally bugspray is a must! the mosquitoes are almost everywhere in the park restless. I had long pants on and they even got me through the. last thought: if they were looking for a quiet holiday, this is definitiw the place to stay. we travel quite often and drive to most national parks, from olympia to the everglades and everything in between (we are from the Philly region). the gas house was one of our favorite places we have ever stayed. many thanks to holly and all the others for such a great time. we will definitely come back.
I always have an amazing experience at this restaurant. Laura is my favorite server; she makes each visit unforgettable for my husband and me. We try to go at least once a week, and it's definitely a must for our date nights. Regardless, make sure to book a table because everything on the menu is fantastic!
We had a wonderful stay! This bed and breakfast provided us with the perfect experience to explore Maine's harbor bar. It's away from the traffic and chaos, yet conveniently close for easy trips to the city or Acadia National Park. They welcomed our amazing dogs, which was a big plus. We enjoyed jazz evenings, delicious meals, friendly staff, and a charming atmosphere. This place is a gem, and we will definitely return!
Crocker House has my five stars for it 's great menu, excellent preparation, and super staff. However, their two dining rooms have all hard surfaces so the noise created by conversations at other tables becomes overwhelming, especially with large parties. Based on that alone, their ambiance only receives three stars from me. It 's unfortunate because everything else at the inn speaks quiet and romantic . I do love this place and will be back, but I think I 'll ask if there are any large groups seating close to my reservation time!
We had dinner at this restaurant, and it was truly one of the best meals I've ever experienced. Everyone in our group was enthusiastic about every dish they tried. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and our server was incredibly attentive. The value was excellent, and we would absolutely come back again.
