Wendy's - Hamilton

I remember when that was the first in town many years ago. It went through a great renovation in recent years, but the food quality is appalling. POS didn't work in Drivethru, so it had to go in. The pop machine doesn't seem to have worked, no ice and flat lukewarm pop. The food was nothing to be proud of. Most were thrown out when it was cold.

Wendy's offers consistently good fast food. My wife is not a big eater, so the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger from the value menu is their choice. I'm happy with Dave's Cheeseburger and we're sharing pommes. Only something is missing onion rings from the menu. The apple pecan salad is great. They will replace the blue cheese with feta. When the shop was renovated, they reduced the seating area. However, it was not a question when we visited.

I was just in the area to do something and eat here for lunch. The location is in an enlivened area on James and it may sometimes be a bit difficult to come here when you try to make a left hand... turn depending on the time of day. This is a historical Wendy's because it is the location of the first Wendy's in Canada. (Hamilton is the first for these things and also has the first Tim Horton). Close to the door is a plaque. The restaurant itself has gone through a recent (and much needed) redesign that made the service much more efficient, this place was previously remarkably slow. The food is typical of Wendy's, but one of the things I like is their beverage dispensing machine that lets you have dozens of different options such as a Raspberry Coke or a Vanilla Barq's rootbeer. (And you can mix them together if you want). Good fast food option safe when you are in the area and they now offer delivery via SkipTheDishes.

I am giving this a 5 star because out of all the fast food places such as Mcdonalds, Burger King, etc. I find that Wendy’s has the best fast food based on chicken strips. I am chicken strips fan. I always order the chicken strip...combo with the sweet and sour sauce, it is delicious. Their frostys are also very good, especially when they had the butterfinger frosty(don’t know if they still have that).
