Bidrage med feedbackI really enjoyed my food here. I got the shrimp and scallop fettucine, which was delicious, and huge. If I was staying in town another night, I would have taken it back to the hotel for a second meal the next day! My husband felt the same about his carbonara. The spaghetti was a hit with my boys, one of whom suffers from anaphylactic allergies. The server was careful to check the allergy guide to ensure it would be safe for my son. My parents were so-so on their veal marsala, and my brother and partner with dissatisfied with the amount of seafood in their pasta (there wasn't much). The house salad was very good, and my family also enjoyed the Valentino's salad as well as some cannoli for dessert. Our server was polite and pleasant but he was quite slow to take our order and wasn't overly attentive. There was a ton of staff working (and standing around) so we couldn't figure out why he was so slow. Overall, not a bad dining experience and I'd likely go back.
We have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions over the past few years. We have always enjoyed the food, especially the Valentino' salad. The service has generally been quite good, but on our last visit, it was poor. We had a young man who seemed about as interested in serving us as having a root canal. To make a long story short, servers need to remember to check with customers to ensure all is in order throughout the meal. And, if there are small children involved, they should get their food out quickly before they get too fidgety. They shouldn't just show up at the table, drop the food, bring the bill and expect a large tip. Didn't happen and he looked most disappointed.
What a huge disappointment!! I recently moved back to the Hamilton area after several years of living in the US. Prior to living in the US I lived near the Upper Ottawa and Mohawk location when it was still there. The food then was good value for the money and my go-to place for pizza. Flash forward 6 years and I am back living near the Paramount location which I was initially excited about. That excitement came crashing down when I went for a couple of sandwiches the other day. I waited 30 minutes to get a Chicken Parm and a Meatball sandwich. What a complete waste of time!! The sandwiches coupled with an Eclair was over $30!!!! As if that wasn't bad enough, the sandwich was the size of a 6"sub (Used to be a kaiser). The chicken Parm was no bigger. What a rip-off. I can get a better sub from Subway and their's is ****. I guess paying the higher rent for the place comes at a cost to both the quality and quantity of what is being served. Like most businesses, they expanded too quickly and with higher operating costs something had to suffer. Turns out it is the customers. I won't be back.
Recently visited during a couples night out, it had been years since any of us had been to Valentino's so we decided to check it out.I'm glad we made a reservation as it was busy! The food was delicious! Our party ordered veal Parmesan with penne, carbonara, chicken Parmesan and spinach/ricotta cannelloni. The serving sizes were more than adequate and some of us had to take some home. The bread they brought to the table was nothing to write home about, your typical "bread stick" style. I wish the bread was more of a homemade variety and didn't look like something that came from a fast food pizza place. My only complaint would be that the service was very slow, people who were seated after us received their food before us and the waitress was not the most attentive. Overall, it was good and the food would bring me for another visit.
This restaurant is really nice, quiet, good seating, excellent food and quick friendly service. So many items on the menu to choose from as well. Pasta, pasta and more pasta! If you are watching your carbs you can opt out of pasta and for $2 more and get grilled vegetables, which I did. Veggies and grilled chicken, delish!
