Saltlick Smokehouse - Hamilton

The ‘feast’ platter for 2 was an amazing way to try a variety of their food. The portions were so huge that the 2 of us had enough leftover for each of us to have lunch the next day too. The brisket and pulled pork were the standout meats for me. I found the cornbread to be the only item that was underwhelming

Can't compliment this place enough!!! Don't know which was more enjoyable the company from the staff or the delicious food! Absolutely amazing definite must try when in hamilton area!!!!!

The food here was fantastic and I love how they serve it on a board to share. The cornbread, Mac and cheese, ribs, brisket and Nashville chicken were my favourite. The prices are quite expensive however and their reservation system is disorganized. We didn’t bother booking a reservation after seeing the entire evening was open online but when we got there they said they were completely booked… the waitress was nice enough to come to Sazarec next door to get us when a table freed up while we had a drink there.

Stopped by for dinner today-Wednesday. Excellent food. There were 2 of us. We ordered the 3 meat/2 sides for 2. We chose beef brisket, pork side ribs and southern fried chicken with coleslaw and cornbread. The offering included whole green beans, pickled radish, okra, pickled apple. I also had a 10 oz beer, so cold, very refreshing! Highly recommend, very delicious.(Some meat/sides removed from plate before photo taken)

Is there a perfect smokehouse? Well, I think we may have found it! The family style of eating is an excellent idea. Basically, you pay a set amount for yourself and whoever else you are with, and they prepare the proportions according to that. Everything shows up on a large wooden charcuterie board. One table had 10+ people, and their table received what looked like a 13-foot board. The mac and cheese is to die for (literally I would run across the highway to get it), and the meat was better than anywhere else I have tried. And my dad is a butcher! And he owns a bbq/smoker. I would sneak out to get Saltlicks bbq instead if it was near his house. The staff are the icing on the cake. My partner and I had Greg taking care of us, and this guy is fantastic! It was nice meeting someone so into DbD... there are only about 10 in the world at this point, haha. Anyways, throw your pants on and head to Saltlick you wont regret it.
