Bidrage med feedbackI nearly missed the entire party yesterday, arriving two hours late. Finding Kelseys on Upper James in the dark of night was a challenge as the front sign was partially burnt out, with only the last three letters lit up. Despite the confusion, my party group had already gone inside without me. I joined them for a beer, and they seemed to be enjoying themselves. The food must have been good. It's time to fix that sign, Kelseys.
Four of us got together for dinner last Sunday evening. We sat down at 6:45 and were greeted by our server, who mentioned she was new and would try her best to answer any questions we had. We ordered 4 beers and looked over the menu while we waited. After 10 minutes, three of the beers were brought to our table, with one being out of stock. This was not a major issue, and a replacement beer was ordered. When that beer was brought to us 10 minutes later, we placed our food order. After 20 minutes, a meal was served without the Caesar salad due to a shortage of dressing. The salad order was cancelled, and the rest of our meals arrived 10 minutes later. The chicken wings were missing sauce, and the nachos were overcooked, likely from sitting under a heat lamp for too long. Once our food was finally served, we ordered a second round of drinks (three beers and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc). After waiting 10 minutes, we were informed that the wine was not available, and the only option was Pinot Grigio. We understand that there may be issues with supply chains and staffing levels, and we do not fault our server for these mishaps. However, it is important for management to ensure that orders are placed timely, and if items are unavailable, servers should be informed promptly so they can notify guests when ordering their meals instead of 20 minutes later. Additionally, I must mention that the restaurant was not busy during our visit, with only two other occupied tables. Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience and do not plan on returning to Kelsey's Upper James anytime soon.
The servers at this restaurant were overwhelmed, with only two of them handling a large number of diners. Management is to blame for allowing two young servers to work while others were sick. The service was extremely slow, but the food was cold and poorly prepared when it finally arrived. This was at a Kelseys location in Hamilton, Ontario, and the experience was a disappointment compared to a previous visit to a location in London. If the situations were reversed, the reviewers would not have returned. Additionally, the men's room lacked paper towels and toilet paper, raising questions about the managerial oversight.
For burgers stopped and not disappointed. The food was good and our server Kasey K was pleasant and helpful. The place could use a little spruce, but we would return.
Restaurants that do not teach basic etiquette to their servers should not receive repeat visits. Talking back rudely to clients asking for basic requirements spoils the evening and is neither gentlemanly nor kind. A simple request to the client should be Shall I take your...plate instead of grabbing a plate that still has food on it. ...Giving long winded explanations to justify the behaviour does not help. Being rushed/rushing clients when the restaurant is at only 10 percent seating capacity is short sighted. And filling in the tip amount ahead of time for the client should be illegal and if not then simply manipulative and arrogant. Kelsey 's should issue a public statement to notify clients that efforts at correction have been made. Until then, avoid this establishment.
