August 8 - Hamilton

I have been a patron of this restaurant for many years, but last night was the first time I experienced such poor quality. The restaurant was crowded and the surroundings were filthy. The air conditioning was not working, making the atmosphere smelly and stuffy. Our salmon sashimi had bones in it and the spicy butterfish tasted old and had a strong smell. The service was lacking and we were very disappointed to see one of our favorite sushi spots decline in quality. Despite having 6 reservations, we were not seated until 6:30 and decided to leave before 7:00 due to the terrible experience. We paid the full $96 bill and couldn't wait to get out of there. It seems like this place has become more focused on quantity rather than quality, which is truly disappointing. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent! However, I was disappointed that they did not have desserts like red bean ice cream and black sesame ice cream, which are available at other 8th of August locations. The restaurant could benefit from some renovations, as both the restaurant and furniture look outdated.

We ordered the Maki-Platter to go and it was incredible! The sushi rolls were so fresh and beautifully plated. It would be perfect for a party. The value was fantastic, getting 6 rolls from your choice of kind for $29.99. It was a generous amount of food. We will definitely be ordering from here again soon. Highly recommended!

If I could give a zero, I would. I'm so upset today and disappointed with my experience. I ordered online at 5:15 and took a pickup time for 6:45, as that was the earliest you had! I'm looking for my food and my daughter was told that my order didn't go through what it did absolutely when my credit card was charged for 65.25. Then you say if you want ANOTHER to wait 40 minutes, would you do it?! Really?! Then my daughter said no thanks and we left. I get all the way back home in Ancaster, no food for dinner, and you call me to say you have just opened your web to accept orders and mine is now mysterious there and if I would like to wait 40 minutes and come back you will do it?!!! I was right there! Then say sadly good, we're just busy! You don't think I knew if I had a pick-up time for an hour and a half later! Then tell me that my money will not be refunded for 3 days! 3 days for an order you said never went through!!! And then you're suddenly able to make it in 15 minutes if I want to go all the way back. I'm exaggerated and thank you for ruining my mother's day! Shame on you and your business practice! If it didn't go through, why do you charge me?! And now let me wait for my refund for 3 days and no food! Thank you for that! I will never order from you again and order them online! It's a fraud! Shame!

Intended to come here for my partner's birthday on a Thursday. We tried calling for two days at various times and kept getting a call disconnected/line busy tone. On their website it says that they are not taking reservations. So we went, but when we...got there we were told we should have made a reservation as they were full for the evening. Extremely disappointed by their organization.
