Green Papaya - Fine Asian Food

Like in any chain, some standards are to be followed and one knows just what to have; the extras come with aspects like service and cleanliness. Location is very good, some 5min from Altona station but on a very busy street, full of cars, noise of all sorts and beggars; inside can be dark and warm. The menu is extensive, it's a chain, and prices have gone up but not so much. Staff is clearly overworked and they tend to be rough at times, but bear the heat in mind this summer. I should try it a second time under different circumstances, feel they deserve it.

“ONLY GERMAN CARD” to pay, unbelievable and I think probably also illegal. The food is amazing but not being able to pay with a European visa? I asked for the complaints form and this was not provided. So I am writing here

Tasty Vietnamese cuisine, prompt and pleasant service. The place seemed popular in late afternoon/early evening. I definitely recommend!

Unfortunately myself and two others got food poisoning from eating here. Will not be coming back, otherwise was a good atmosphere.

On the day of Hamburg Marathon we, a family of four where the two sons are grown 30), visited this place. First incident was when we ordered. All fine but they had missed the water to one person. No reflection that all of us wanted something to drink to the food. Had to call waitress to get water. When getting food it was obvious that all most had been prepared well in advance. Guess this was the reason why one of the sons got food poisoning. Some ruined days after the visit. When paying, I got bill shown on tablet. No international credit cards were approved meaning I paid cash. No receipt received. Obvious need of visit from Hamburg health inspectors and German tax authorities. We will never go back and suggest no one else go there either.
