Jean's Restaurant - Halifax

This place gets rave reviews and Best of Halifax awards. Essentially, it's a cut-price oriental restaurant, making the ususal standard dishes with the same old ingredients that don't really elevate it above mall food court chinese food. If you're hungry and you want fast, and...plentiful, and medicore chinese food then this is your place. I ahve to say their menu is exhaustive!!!! But all pretty much sweet, and cloying sauces, the flavours are all mass-produced and doesn't really inspire great cuisine. But it's plenty of tangy food to fill your belly. Great if you're a student, or on a budget.

I ordered takeout from this restaurant and unfortunately had a negative experience. Despite being a loyal customer for 20 years, I still encountered issues with my order. Upon receiving my food, I discovered that the sweet and sour sauce was missing from my dish. I called the restaurant to notify them of the mistake and they promised to deliver the sauce promptly. However, it took 40 minutes for the sauce to arrive, by which time the food was cold and the overall meal was a disappointment.

The restaurant offers a variety of Oriental cuisine, including Canadian, Szechuan, and Thai dishes. Our favorites are the spicy beef, vegetarian egg rolls, and pad thai. The atmosphere is not fancy, but the restaurant is clean and well-kept. The servers are exceptional, polite, and attentive. Whether dining in or getting takeout, the food maintains its quality and taste.
