Edna Restaurant - Halifax

On our first ever visit to Halifax, we came to Edna based on a recommendation from our Airbnb host. How lucky we were to be staying just a block away from this terrific restaurant! We sat at the bar and our bartender, Katherine, gave us wonderful service, along with suggestions for our time in Halifax and points east in Nova Scotia. Dinner was amazing: flank steak and the best pork chop I have ever eaten, followed by strawberry shortcake - all delicious. Our second (last) night in town we returned to Edna - the place was packed but we were fortunate to get the last two seats at the bar! Katherine and the entire crew were working efficiently in a very hectic environment - she also pointed out the owner who was working harder than anyone ( as former restaurant owners we notice and appreciate this greatly). Dinner was again amazing - Cornish hen (delicious) and scallops (best ever!), followed by Butterscotch pudding. The place was packed and the staff was busy without being out of control. We just retired after 11 years of creating and operating a very successful restaurant, so we know the work and dedication that goes into an operation like this. Hands down Edna is one of our favorite restaurants ever!!!

I visit Edna every time I come to Halifax, and recommend it to everyone I know who will be in the area. The seasonal menu is awesome, they've got great local beer and cocktails. The staff is so awesome. Can't wait to go again!

You can always count on good quality, delicious dishes, and friendly service at Edna. They do not take reservations, so we often sit at the bar.

This restaurant was very closed to the vacation rental that we stayed. It was strongly recommended by one of our friends. We were so happy that we went to this restaurant. Decore was nice and service was on point. Food was delicious. We had mussels, fish cakes, halibut, steak, and scallops. They were all good.

The service was prompt and the staff was attentive. My wife and I enjoyed a delightful breakfast together at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly. The pancakes and sausages were delicious, especially the Clifford pancakes, which were outstanding.
