Food was excellent, there was a long wait though Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
Atmosphere was busy and okay. We waited about 30 mins (we were ok with that we thought it would be good based on the busy traffic and the pictures on Google. We asked the server after reading the thumbs up items which iens she recommended and she talked about the burgers and sandwiches and why. Pretty good information, she welcomed us and was pleasant. We ordered a drink, I got one she recommended and said I should try after I asked about ordering a sangria, so I switched my option and said sure (took her choice instead . We ordered pretzel bites with cheese dip. I have eaten these at Gahan house and they were supreme taste so I was excited to order them. We got our drinks and his was a hot cider drink that she told him not to get the whipped cream that it comes with because she said it cuddles. He drank a few sips abd really didn 't enjoy it. My drink was horrible, she came by to ask and we both felt awkward so we said good thanks as diners usually do. I didn 't drink mine as it was just too strong and tasted like only coconut. Our mains came out and were average but nit good. I asked my husband to rate his food to see if his experience was like mine, we agreed we weren 't upset but would definitely never ever come here or recommend this place. After finishing we waited around for someone to acknowledge us, then a woman came and took our plates and I decided to speak up about jsut my drink to be removed from the bill. She left and then we waited another maybe 15 mins, I began to wonder if I needed to approach someone to pay... finally she came over and asked how the food was. She said she took my drink off...I said it was okay, the pretzel bites were a little odd but, I 'm not complaining just wanted to note that it was not what I was expecting. I thought her response might be sorry to hear that and maybe just ask why and tell the cook as feedback. Instead she looked offended almost and said oh? How so? And I said well they were very doughy and chewy but hard on the bottom. It was a really weird combo, (and I didn 't tell her but, that cheese dip was not dip it was sauce. That was runny watery sauce. The ketchup was thicker. And she said about the pretzels Well yeah they ARE soft pretzels and I said I know they are soft pretzels I have eaten them at several other places and I know what they are like I felt so awkward and it was like I went to her home and offended her. I happily left no tip. I truly think this is a place people go to drink as they DID have a unique drink menu. The food is a side bar in my opinion. Feedback is a gift and can be used to improve your services, wouldn 't you rather I help you by leaving you face to face information so that you can possibly make changes if you have many others feel the same? Instead I was left feeling like I pissed her off so here I am posting a story so that others can avoid your establishment. We paid $80, after all the waiting for seats, waiting for bills, and waiting for the water we asked for and never got... I think you 'd at least hear us out. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
The food was really good, I had the burger week burger and it was great. The place is hard to find, I got lost and had to ask for help. Go around back and go all the way to the right and you'll find it. There's no signs with the business name anywhere around the entrance until you get right up close to it. My wife and I just went here. We were excited to come because of the positive reviews and the large number of customers visiting and dining everyday. Today we were unfortunately disappointed. When we arrived we had to wait 20-30 min. I watched a host tell someone sorry about your order and then the guy asked if the dip was included and she didn 't know. Then he left without saying anything and was upset. I thought that was a bit odd. Once we sat down we got some water, asked for recommendations and got some alocholic drinks. I got an apple cider cocktail without whipped cream. The drink ended up being pretty strong and didn 't have much to it. I don 't like strong drinks like that and I prefer to taste more cider than alcohol. We also ordered what was advertised as Pretzel Bites with a Cheddar Dip. When it came out the pretzel bites were very doughy with no added seasoning other than butter. The cheddar dip reminded me visually and flavor-wise like a creamy gnocci soup from Olive Garden. It was very soupy, watery, and did not taste like a cheddar cheese dip from my experience. We are used to a yellow cheddar dip with a thicker consistency, which you can even get at a local circle K for a much lower price. For my entre I got something called the Louisiana Chicken Club Sandwich (I believe that was the name). The bacon was hard, dark colored, and appeared over cooked. The yellow aiola (maybe) sauce was pretty good, however the chicken had no distinct flavor. It just tasted like cooked chicken breast. I got sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, $4 extra, and they were not crispy. They were flimsy and very average. I ended up spending $50 CAD total and it was not worth the price. I honestly had 2 chicken club sandwiches from A&W last night for a total of $6 CAD that were better than anything I ate today at the Public House (which shouldn 't be the case). Once we received the bill, my wife provided feedback on the pretzel bites tasting a bit off and the server seemed offended from the feedback. All she said was they seemed a bit doughy to what she 's used to. She kind of seemed to toss the cc machine on the table after that and didn 't say much of anything. She seemed like she was upset. I would not return to this restaurant. The prices are way too high and it seems like a place where people go to get drinks and where the food is an afterthought. I could get much better food at a lower price from places like Moxies. Shortly after my wife and I had upset stomach. Then I had diarrhea. Not a good sign after eating somewhere.
