The Cookhouse - Haliburton

My husband and I were visiting the area from the Niagara Region and was hoping to try a local resturant. We were very lucky to find this gem! Our server, Samantha, was absolutly wonderful. When we couldn't make up our minds on what to eat (because it all sounded and smelt so good! she aksed a few questions about our food preferences and provided excellent advise. She was very attentive, friendly and engaging. Our food was great and the portions were very generous. We will happily return. Thank you, Truss and Samantha for a pleasant experience!

We live on Kennisis Lake. Everyone of our friends recommended this place. Went in there eager to eat, looking forward to a great meal. Seated by a courteous host. Waited. Waited. No one came to take our drinks let alone our meal. Not super busy, but not empty either. Called the young blondes server who was passing us by constantly. No response, no acknowledgement. Final straw was when she went to the couple at the table next to us who came in AFTER we did and took their orders. Never seen anything like this in my life. Hope she gets fired.

This place is so delicious and does not disappoint! I came here for a second time and it was still as good as I remember. My husband and I were snowmobiling in the forest and we took a break for lunch. The takeout was very fast and efficient. We both had wings and Caesar salad. The wings were juicy and well fried. The salad was fresh and you could tell their dressings are homemade. We both got cappuccinos and it was strong and well made. We can’t wait to come back and have more delicious food!

The Cookhouse is firing on all cylinders in spite of the restrictions operational problems. The menu is somewhat limited as a result of the problems but you can still get great tasty fast food. We did the canopy tour and then dropped in for a quick lunch before the wolf conservatory. My husband and I shared the grilled cheese sandwich and the fish and chips. Both were excellent! Highly recommend.
