Sam's Chowder House - Half Moon Bay

As always, food and service is great. Anyway, it's coming back.

Food quality was disappointing. However, we ordered food choices that might not have been the best, instead of catching the day or chowder. I had a very average lobster roll, and my wife had shrimps that were boiled under. Location was good as the service. All in all, an average to below average experience.

My friends and I came to Sam to celebrate my birthday. It's a favorite place of ours. Luis, our waiter, was incredible! Food was great Calamari as an appetizer accompanied by 2 large diving sauce, followed by our main courses when seafood spaghetti, Clam Chowder and fish chips, end with key limecake and a big round of happy birthday! Pleasant atmosphere overlooking the sea. Everything combined for a wonderful, unforgettable birthday party!

Excellent seafood fresh halibut) and oysters. Wine list was very acceptable. Been eating there for years and never disappointed.

We love Sam's and this visit was no exception. We had delicious clam chowder and crab bisque, and the fresh fish was delicious! Our server was personable and efficient, and let us take our time and enjoy our lunch. We still hope one day to be able to be seated in the front dining room. We always seem to get seated in the very back room. We still have a view, but it is with other diners in front of us. Other than that, a perfect experience!
