Evangeline Cuisine - Half Moon Bay

My husband and I were spending an evening in HMB and we came across this jewel. We had a FANTASTIC dinner. The atmosphere was calm and great soft piano music. Lucia, our server was FREAKING AMAZING, PROFESSIONAL and ATTENTIVE!The fish and chips were fantastic! The HMB seafood plate hands down 4 lobstertails, shrimp, muscles, scallops and clams seasoned perfectly and no need of butter (for real) no butter no oily fuss just perfectly prepared. We will come back again! Thank you Lucia for your awesome customer service, you are an asset to this restaurant!

Frying oil was off, ruining the fish and fries with acrid after taste. The other food was good. Bad experience for the price.Staff and atmosphere were nice.

My scallops were good but my partner’s fish and chips was quite bad. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the server.When I asked him whether the fish was frozen, he gave me a snarky answer saying it’s a secret ingredient and cannot disclose it. Who the hell gives that kind of answer? Which means it’s clearly frozen which is fine. And when I told him the fish is very tough, he shrugged it off and said okay. Not apologetic at all. Very disappointed given how expensive it was.

We came for dessert and wanna come back for dinner. Wonderful gem in Half Moon Bay! We were served by the owner and enjoyed every minute we spent in this cozy and friendly place. And they’re open on Monday!
