The harp is a whimsical legend shrouded in mystery. The fact this location now seizes to exist is the single most devastating news the sleepy town of Bangor has ever encountered.
I can’t believe this place has anything other than poor ratings. The place stunk. The smell was overpowering. We walked in at about 7pm on a Saturday evening, there were only a couple of people in the bar, one of which was asleep; sprawled out on a bench. The pool room was full of surly teenagers, no older than about 15. The beer garden was the only place to get away from the horrendous smell, probably because the gents toilet has no door on it with the urinal in full view of the pub. The decking in the beer garden was falling apart. The only plus point was the bar man who appeared to be trying his best but looked like he’d rather be anywhere else but there. We won’t be going back.
Very cheap . Monday evening £1 per pint. Doubles £2. Sunday Dinner good value. Once a famous Pub with lots of history
I am a Master student and am not a fan of big crowds, but the Harp has surprising become my friend's and I'd 2/3 time a week hang out because of the fantastic staff, brilliant atmosphere and reasonable priced drinks. Over the Christmas period, the society I am part of had their Christmas meal there. The food was amazing and the Manager on duty made sure we had the private room to ourselves. The set up looked lovely also. Will always recommend, if nothing else, for the fantastic staff
