Z-teca Mexican Eatery - Guelph

It appears that this restaurant only serves one size of burrito, which is a bit pricey for the portion size. I was not very impressed with the variety or freshness of the ingredients. However, the staff was friendly and the service was quick.

I want to like this restaurant, but I am usually disappointed and frustrated by the high prices and small portions. I don't understand why this place is more expensive than other local burrito restaurants when the quality of the food is not any better. I know that gas prices and food costs are rising, but why is a bag of tortilla chips $7 if they are made locally? I ordered a burrito, side of guacamole, and a bag of chips and ended up spending $28 without even getting a drink. The guacamole was flavorless and the roasted jalapeños were nowhere to be found. The tortilla chips should be freshly fried to order, but instead they were left under a heat lamp and were dry. I prefer Mucho Burrito at the shopping center or Fresh Burrito on Speedvale Avenue to this place.

The dining experience was very pleasant. The customer service was excellent and the portion size was just right.

This was my favorite place to eat before, but now I will probably never go back. the last two paintings I left, my burrito tasted. I got the same order as usual, and yet it tasted quite different. the only possibility is that they have suddenly changed the formula for their “veggie crumble” which is the only non-meat option for the burritos. I do not eat meat they serve, and since they have changed their only vegetarian option without warning, I will not be able to eat there anymore. I am really disappointed and feel like I was wasting my time and my money.

Amazing service, and love the seating area! Their salsa is so delicious and a variety of options to choose from!
