The Fat Duck Gastro Pub - Guelph

Fat Duck is a great neighborhood pub. Always busy on sports or events days. If you watch soccer or NFL this is a great spot. New menu is great and between classic pub dishes and some new ones like the Korean Noodle Bowl or Duck stroganoff, much improved overall. If you are looking for a pub with a classic feel and good atmosphere and good people, The Duck is where it's at.

I don’t usually take the time out to write a review like this but I feel like last night makes it worthwhile.We had made reservations as a celebration of life of sorts for my late friends birthday. It had been just over a year since his passing. This was one of his favourite pubs in Guelph, and we came here often on Tuesdays for wings and a couple pints.Our server Chelsea (like the football team) offered a lovely experience, genuine banter, and was the best server experience I’ve had in a while.I hope this review finds her so she knows she went above and beyond for us and our late friend Ben. Thanks Chelsea.

Great pub atmosphere, with amazing, tasty food in great portions all served with friendly, cheerful knowledgeable staff. The mozzarella stocks were By Far the largest I ever had, and the warmed marinara sauce added to the deliciousness. The curry was delicious and the roasted chicken salad is a meal on its own. So good!!!

Quite underwhelming. Our initial server first tried to seat us at the same table as 2 other people (intended for 4 ppl), which was bizarre as we did not know the people, and they were not even asked ahead of time if it would be alright. The server just wandered us over, said how about here? with a smile that said they knew it would be awkward, upon which we turned it down for a table which was totally free, 5 steps away, in the process of being cleaned. After this, things went smoothly we sat on the patio, where there was a menu written in chalk on the pillars outside. As this was our first time here, we had no idea, and were not pointed to this unofficial menu at all by our server. We would 've probably got an appetizer from there if we saw it, but neither of us were disappointed after the fact, as the food wasn 't so good. It tastes fine while you eat it, and it 's presented kinda well, but we both had stomach aches after the fact. Probably their ingredients aren 't the highest quality and for the price, I could go anywhere else in Guelph, pay the same amount, and get great food and great service. In any case, it wasn 't horrible. Would give 2.5 stars if I could. We got the duck stroganoff and the steak and mushroom pie. The best part of the restaurant was the location you 're surrounded by green on the patio.

LOVE the Duck. Great food, drinks, patio, atmosphere, service. Chicken curry pie is incredible. Shame they got rid of the tofu burger but plenty of great options. And put up a wall between the urinals! Nobody needs to see me ****.
