Bidrage med feedbackWhat a great spot. nice decor inside, passionate staff. All appetizers were delicious. The carpaccio was delicious, the baked garlic and peppers outstanding. Ceasar salad was excellent. The mains were just as good. The pastas were very well prepared and presented. Try the carbonara . Pomodorra was cooked to perfection. Worth the drive for this outstanding food. Very impressed.
We met another couple here for dinner, both couples from out of town. The menu had lots of gluten free choices, essential for one and a preference for another. Among the 4 of us we had 3 different meals, all were very good. The service was great. And, there was good entertainment.
We were celebrating my wife's birthday and we had the whole family together for the first time since Christmas. We wanted to celebrate in style with awesome food, so naturally we chose Manhattan's.We have always been impressed with their food and service, and again they did not let us down. There was 7 of us and we arrived at 6 PM. They had live music for the evening, a jazz trio. They were good and it added to the whole experience. We started with drinks, I had the Hacker-Pschorr golden lager, very smooth. My parents had their house red wine and they quite enjoyed it. My daughter went with the classic Shirley Temple and the rest of the table had San Pellegrino. We love their crostini sampler so we had 2 orders for the table. My daughter is vegan so she asked for their bruschetta without any butter or cheese and they were happy to make her what she wanted. The samplers came out and everyone was very impressed, the roasted garlic was a big hit and both samplers were finished. We then ordered 5 small caesar salad's. Their dressing is excellent and I enjoyed my.For mains me and my wife split a large "build your own" pizza with bacon, pepperoni, sauteed onions, roasted red peppers and feta cheese. The best part of the pizza was the bacon was crispy so it did not make the whole pizza greasy. We love their crust, it is very thin and crisp. My dad had the chicken marsala, he couldn't stop singing its praises. My daughter had the quinoa stirfry. She had the sauce on the side as she really doesn't like spicy food. She found the sauce too spicy for her and did not use it, thus the stirfry was a bit dry,The rest of the table split the gillispie pizza. I tried a piece and it was good.Everyone had more than enough to eat and we still ended up taking home enough pizza for lunch the next day.We stayed and chatted for quite a while after our table was cleared. There was no pressure from our server to move us out even though the restaurant was busy, That was much appreciated. In summary, we had excellent service, everyone enjoyed their meals, we had a wonderful time and the music was an added bonus. What is not to love about Manhattan's?When we are in Guelph and want a nice meal in an adult venue this is where we go, and they have not disappointed. We will be back!
Accommodate 30 guests with ease. Although we were spread out it was still a great event. The staff was so helpful and friendly.
What a charming little restaurant. It is decorated like a quaint, upscale home. Somewhat classic, almost Victorian but with touches of wrought iron whimsy with chandeliers and lanterns AND it's in a strip mall.....so they manage to transport you to another place. We were expecting a jazz duo to play during dinner, but no music on Mondays. I guess we'll just have to go back. First we had the featured pizza as an app for the four of us. Not your traditional pizza, more like flatbread on steroids. It was delicious and a great start. There was one German draft beer ordered, it was very good....definitely European lite with good flavour. Not like North American beer. One bottle of "Organized Crime" Cab Franc which was just excellent. I'm going to look for this one for my own wine rack. Not heavy but full of spice and red stone fruit, but not fruity, warm to the nose and improved as it had a chance to breath. We had two Chicken Marsala, one Carbonara, a Beef Carpaccio and a lamb flatbread. They put their own twist on the traditional. The chicken was a lovely breast with a frenched wing drumstick attached, as opposed to medallions. And lots of veg with their individual flavours intact. Peppers, tomatoes, asparagus, green beans, zucchini and of course mushrooms on the chicken. Little roasted potatoes left whole and fluffy inside....would have liked to taste a little more of the duck fat in the potatoes. The chicken was moist and roasted with flavour. The Carbonara was fresh pasta, smokey bacon, big chunks, as opposed to pancetta. Very creamy. My husband added sliced chicken to it and ate every bit of the dish. I would have liked it to be a little more egg and a little less cream. But that's just me, perhaps a little more traditional minded. My son had the two apps as his main. I'd say the star of the evening was the beef carpaccio. Wow. So tender, actually tasted like beef, excellent olive oil.....and a huge plate! Could be shared by 2-4 as an app. The lamb flatbread was good, but not quite "lamby" enough for our tastes. Lots of slow cooked lamb on flatbread, drizzled with mint yogurt with a little bowl of couscous. Tasty and filling. We had a main server, but a few people pitched in throughout the evening and they were all so nice...and pleasantly sincere in there service, advice and comments. The price tag was $179.00 before tip, so I think very reasonable for four, with a bottle of wine. So from atmosphere to food a great evening. We will go back for food and look forward to hearing some music next time.
