I've never done Yelp reviews, but I HAD to for this coffee shop. 1st timer. I initially wanted the ham and cheese croissant but it was out, so I ordered the jalepeno turkey/cheese croissant and the spanish latte. SOOO DELICIOUS! The atmosphere is super cute and the customer service was excellent! The croissant is a good size and filling! The ladies (i wish i gotten their names were very helpful and sweet. I'm glad DT Ontario has this coffee shop and i hope it stays for the long run. I will definitely be back! Thanks Mestiza! :
Do you ever have that one place that you typically visit when you 're in the neighbourhood and everything is typically great until it 's not? You know, you experience that one thing that makes you never return. This last visit describes just that. Let me explain. We 've visit the Mestiza Coffeehouse on Euclid and always without issue. Recently, we decided to stop in again. It was a normal visit, ordered and sat down. I happened to glance over at the receipt as I settled in (I 've never got a receipt here, I said 'yes ' to the question of 'do you want a receipt ' out of habit since most places just usually give you one . I noticed a charge underneath the 2 coffees we ordered that was $1.25. I picked up the receipt to get a closer look and saw a separate line for the alternative milk that we chose. You read that right; $1.25 for a mere splash of alternative milk. I won 't get started on the whole issue that others have churned up recently in media with some of the major companies charging customers for alternative milk products and the argument that alternative milk shouldn 't cost extra (I 'm looking at you Starbucks...and there are plenty of others out there alongside them...I 'm looking at you too , but this isn 't just simply overcharging here anymore, no they 're past that this is price gouging using alternative milk at its best.We ordered the 2 small coffees, yes that 's right, size SMALL and paid an additional $1.25 on top of what the coffee already costs for a literal splash of milk. Even if we ordered a larger size there is no reason a business like this (or any business for that matter should be charging 1/4th of the price it costs for a half gallon just because a customer prefers an alternative milk! We picked up our order with bad tastes in our mouths with the intent to never return. Why didn 't you check the menu for the alternative milk charge, you ask? We did. They don 't list it it only says additional charge . Clever, right? Everyone just pays for it and you just never know how much you 're paying for it (out of sight, out of mind, right? . You probably thought how nice of them it was to not charge you for it when in reality you were charged for it you just didn 't get the receipt and notice. They hope you wouldn 't notice.Due to this absolutely low, disgusting, dirty, dishonest and scummy practice of Mestiza Coffeehouse this was the singular thing that has made this business lose regular customers. I am actually embarrassed to even say that I paid $1.25 for alternative milk and more even sad that a company like this thinks it is okay to charge customers this and gets away with it! Times must be hard. Definitely do not recommend!
My family and I have only been here once. We came here on a Saturday morning. We were lucky with the parking. As we arrived, someone was leaving. There were almost no empty seats in the place. I ordered a Spanish latte, ham croissant, and strawberry croissant. It was all good! There is no doubt that we will return in the future. I found the employees to be friendly.Parking: There are two parking lots. One behind the place and one across the street.Kid-friendliness: They have free coloring material for kids.
Best place to come and grab coffee and chill.I've never had a ham and cheese croissant hit this
