First of all, the name is DACAL. The service was very good, considering we were a family of four adults and a 7-month-old baby. This means there were a lot of extra requests, which were met with a smile and efficiently. The food is another story. The fish pasties (empanadas) were a bit greasy, the meat pasties were good, with a lot of filling. The grilled kidneys were just barely edible, with a strong smell of urine. The breaded fried fish was tasty. All in all, just average. It is a big place, with many tables and an annex under a tent. We did not find the place to have any kind of atmosphere. We only went once and would not return. Prices were slightly higher than in nearby riverfront restaurants.

This a water sport, beach tourist town and the restaurants cater to travelers. We ate at Racal twice and had a good experience both times. The staff are very friendly and the food (simple Italian) was the best we had in Gualeguaychu.

In other cities, I would have had three stars. But looking at all these things, that's a good restaurant. The empanadas are good. The Boga, a local river fish, is very good to excellent. The service is a little slow, but not bad. It is very well located above the river
