Bidrage med feedbackWe visited Gruyere yesterday and decided to go to the restaurant Des Remparts for a drink and a famous fondue. What a mistake that was. It was a beautiful afternoon and we waited patiently for an outdoor table for 15 minutes. During this time no one came to ask us what we were waiting for or to inform us how long a table would be. We have just waited there, although employees come from the restaurant to serve other customers outdoors. Finally ended a few and hesitant we drove to this table and sat down. A waitress came here to serve us. We asked for 1x fondue between us 4 (2x adults and 2x children). The waitress is very rude and loudly shaken that we do not have a fondue between 4. We explained that we had eaten a big breakfast at our hotel this morning and wanted only a taste of their famous fondue above all that we were in the heart of Gruyère! This time the waitress knocked down the cutlery she had bought on the table and a few minutes later a waitress came to check firmly (so loud that every other table stared at us) we were not allowed to order a fondue between the 4 of us! 3 of us could share one, but if 4 of us would share, we had to order another. Sure it is our right how customers order what we want and are not forced to buy more to feed the bags of the owner? We were so disgusting by the attitude and behaviour of these two ladies who served us, we decided to order only our 4x drinks and to cancel the fondue as a whole. We have a loud tutorial from the waitress who has finally disappeared to get our drinks. I have never written a review on Trip Advisor, but was so outraged by the service and behavior I feel it only right to warn others and advise you to try one of the other beautiful looking restaurants there instead!
There are traditional dishes on cheese such as fondue and raclette and other types of dishes. There are also many regular variations such as soups, pasta, meat and fish dishes, salads. The restaurant has a good view of the valley from a... place (in the restaurant) and sitting on the terrace outside. There is Wi-Fi for guests. The staff is polite.
Not very welcoming. The waitress that attended us was quite unfriendly. Good location but you feel that they have had enough of tourists visiting
All wonderful. Starting from the picturesque village of Gruyeres, which is cute and extremely quiet at night. We spent 2 days at this place and had a typical Swiss gastronomic experience in this lovely restaurant. The atmosphere was extremely welcoming, the service very cordial, plus...a kind of terrace enclosed with glass, giving a spectacular view of the valley below the village. There we ordered two very typical dishes from the region. The Fondue and Raclette. All accompanied by a wonderful wine indicated by our waitress. The final set of the work resulted in one of the best gastronomic experiences of all the trips I have ever done. Unforgettable . And all this with my wife, mother and my 2 daughters.
Had the fondue for 1, the terrine and salad. They were delicious. Great attitude, people look over. The one for the desert had the fellow citizen with Gruyère cream. Wow.
