Il Grecale - GROTTAMMARE

This restaurant came highly recommended to us, as we travel to Marche a couple of times. We were finally able to secure a reservation for dinner and we’re looking forward to it. The evening was such a disappointment, from the service to the food and the wine. We arrived at 8 PM, and about five other reservations came in after us. The solo server attended to all the tables first, as we waited for 30 minutes for a greeting. We enjoy the wines of the region and we’re disappointed to find that were only two red wines on the menu. We ordered a salad and mussels and asked for these to come together. They did not arrive together so we ate the separate . For dinner we ordered the Bronzino fish and the grilled lobsters. Both entrées were disappointing. The worst part of it was the second entrée arrived 25 minutes later, which resulted in both of us eating dinner separately. The fish and the lobster were not seasoned well and bland. The service was absent which can really make or break a dining experience. We honestly do not know what all the hype was about. It was a bad dining experience from the service to the food.

Almost everything was closed during Covid time (Omicron December) and we were driving through. It was lunch time and after parking the car we stumbled upon this precious place. Fast, friendly service, delicious food and good price.

You come back after a year and you feel like you never left. The staff expertly guided by Consuelo can make you comfortable with smiles and kindness. The dishes, all based on fresh fish, are cooked at the moment and therefore require the time necessary for their preparation. Among the various dishes of the menu recommend spaghetti with lobster, when available and spigola in the oven with potatoes.

Dream atmosphere facing the sea, then you look around and you are forced into tractor boards to recover space.... Food and great service, but you miss that particular care of the local...
